Ursprung des Landesnamens:	Origin of the Country's Name:
Der Name des Staates war der Name der Hauptstadt. Die Stadt Coburg wurde im 12. Jahrhundert erstmals als "Trufalisat" erwähnt. Im Jahr 1217 wurde die Stadt dann erstmals als "Coburg" erwähnt. Über den Namensursprung ist nichts bekannt, jedoch ein slawischer Ursprung vermutet. Die Vorsilbe "co" soll von "chov" kommen, was "Sicherung" bedeutet.	The name of the state was the name of the capital. The city of Coburg was first mentioned in the 12th century as "Trufalisat". In 1217 the city was first mentioned as "Coburg". About the name's origin is nothing known, but it is suspected a Slavic origin. The prefix "co" should come from "chov" which means "protection".
