Meaning/Origin of the Flag: |
| Selangor verwendete anfänglich eine einfarbige rote Flagge. Offenbar geht dies auf den Einfluss des Sultanats Aceh zurück. Erst gegen Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts bzw. zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts nahm Selangor eine rot-gelb gevierteilte Flagge mit der Symbolik des Islam in der roten Oberecke an. Der Sultan des Landes verwendet eine gelbe Flagge mit dem Emblem des Landes in Rot in der Mitte. | Selangor used initially a single-coloured red flag. That has obviously its roots in influence of the Sultanate of Aceh. Not until the end of the 19th century respectively to the beginning of the 20th century Selangor adoped a red-yellow quartered flag with the symbolism of the Islam in the red upper staff quadrant. The Sultan of the country uses an yellow flag with the emblem of the state in red in the middle. |
