Terengganu

Bedeutung/Ursprung der Flagge:	Meaning/Origin of the Flag:
Terengganu war (wie Kelantan) ursprünglich ein Teil Siams (Thailand). Als Terengganu sich im Jahre 1832 teilweise von Siam löste, wurde eine einfarbige weiße Flagge verwendet. Später wurde die Flagge schwarz, und nur das erste Drittel am Flaggenmast blieb als weißer Streifen bestehen. Über die Gründe kann nur spekuliert werden:	Terengganu was (like Kelantan) initially a part of Siam (Thailand). As Terengganu partially untied itself from Siam in the year 1832, was used a single-coloured white flag. Later the flag became black and only the first third near the flagstaff remained as white stripe. About the reasons is it only possible to speculate:
Terennganu wurde vom Sultanat Lingga abhängig und übernahm dessen schwarze Flagge mit geringen Abweichungen zur Unterscheidung (vergleichbar mit den Staat Pahang). Der Sultan von Terengganu führte, wie bei den meisten Malaiischen Staaten üblich, eine weiße persönliche Flagge ein. Im Interesse der Unterscheidung musste die Landesflagge nun abgeändert werden.	Terennganu became dependant from the Sultanate of Lingga and adoped its black flag with slight divergencies for differentiation (comparable with the State of Pahang). The Sultan of Terengganu inroduced – like usual in the most Malay states – a white personal flag. In the interest of differentiation has to change the flag of the country from then on.
Die Dienstflagge des Landes wurde durch ein weißes Diagonalkreuz im schwarzen Feld der Flagge unterschieden. Auf der Nationalflagge wurden irgendwann Halbmond und Stern in Weiß in das schwarze Feld der Flagge eingefügt. Die Dienstflagge wurde nunmehr davon unterschieden, indem Halbmond und Stern in Schwarz in den weißen Streifen der Flagge eingesetzt wurden.	The official flag of the country was to differentiate from the national flag by a white diagonal cross in the black field of the flag. Someday were introduced crescent and star in white on the black field of the national flag. The official flag was from now on to differentiate from it by inserting of crescent and star in black on the white stripe of the flag.
Im Jahre 1946 wurde die heutige Flagge eingeführt, da mit dem Beitritt zur Malaiischen Union keine Unterscheidung in National-, Handels- oder Dienstflagge mehr notwendig war. Eine einzige National- / Landesflagge genügte.	In the year 1946 was introduced the today's flag, because by joining to the Malay Union there was no need anymore for a differentiation between national, merchant or official flags. One only national respectively country's flag was enough.
