Bedeutung/Ursprung der Flagge – Meaning/Origin of the Flag:

The flag of the UN shows a stylized globe, surroundet by olive-twigs in white, in an UN pale-blue bunting.
The blue should stand for peace and neutrality and the oil twigs for the peaceful intentions. The world should symbolize the global character of the organization. The blue is azure-blue and is defined as follows: Hex #4B92DB, RGB 75|146|219, CMYK 71|37|0|0, Pantone 279.

Zahlen und Fakten – Numbers and Facts:

- Entkolonialisierung
- Förderung internationaler Zusammenarbeit

Im Jahre 1996 hatten die VN 185 Mitgliedsstaaten. Nichtmitglieder waren damal z.B. die Schweiz, der Vatikan, Nordkorea, Kiribati, Tuvalu, Nauru und Tonga.

The United Nations Organization was established on 26th of June in 1945.
It is arranged as a worldwide alliance of the victorious mights, primary the USA, against the losers of the 2nd world war.
In this way is it, that exclusively victorious mights have a seat in the UN security counsel, and in the UN charter is still contained an enemy state clause against Germany and Japan (Art. 53 und 107).
They tryed to remove this clause by a revision in 1995. This propose failed, and that clause will be existend for further 50 years, and Germany and Japan are to contemplate for further 50 years as enemy states.
The UN has it's seat in New York. The supreme organ is the general assembly.
