| Die
Flagge von Ostsudan zeigt die Farben der ersten Flagge des Sudan zwischen
1956 und 1969, und zwar drei horizontale Streifen in Blau, Gelb und Grün,
wahrscheinlich um einen senkrechten roten Balken am Mast ergänzt. Darstellungen der Flagge sind sehr selten, und bei der oben gezeigten Flagge handelt es sich um eine Rekonstruktion von einem Foto. |
The flag
of East Sudan shows the colors of the first flag of the Sudan 1956-1969,
comprising three horizontal stripes in blue, yellow and green, probably
supplemented by a vertical red bar at the mast. Representations of the flag
are very rare, and when the flag shown above is a reconstruction of a photo. |

| "Ostsudan" ist der Name des Operationsgebietes der "Eastern Front". Die Eastern Front ist ein Zusammenschluss von lokalen Rebellengruppen, und zwar des Beja Congress, der Rashaida Free Lions und seit 2005 auch der JEM aus Darfur. Bis 2005 gehörte auch die Südsudanesische SPLA zur Eastern Front. Die moslemischen halbnomadischen Beja sind mit 2,4 Millionen Angehörigen eine der größten Volksgruppen des Sudan. Die moslemischen Rashaida sind ein Volk arabischen Ursprungs, deren Vorfahren in der Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts von der Arabischen Halbinsel kommend in den Ostsudan einwanderten. | "Eastern
Sudan" is the name of the operation area of the "Eastern Front". The Eastern
Front is a coalition of local rebel groups, namely the Beja Congress, the
Rashaida Free Lions and since 2005 also the JEM from Darfur. Until 2005 the
Southern Sudanese SPLA, was part of the Eastern Front. The semi-nomadic Beja are Muslims, and they are with 2,4 million members one of the largest ethnic groups in the Sudan. The Muslim Rashaida are a people of Arab origin, whose ancestors in the middle of the 19th century migrated from the Arabian Peninsula into the Eastern Sudan. |
