Die Flagge von Colorado stammt aus dem Jahre 1911, wurde jedoch in ihrer heutigen Form am 31.03.1964 angenommen. Sie zeigt drei waagerechte Streifen in Blau, Weiß und Blau. In der Mitte des weißen Streifens, in zum Mast hin verschobener Position befindet sich ein roter Buchstabe "C", er steht für "Colorado", der mit einer gelben Scheibe hinterlegt ist. Dieses Gebilde hat 1/3 der Höhe der Flagge. | The flag of Colorado

Der Name "Colorado" heißt "Der Gefärbte" und bezieht sich auf den gleichnamigen Fluss, der das Land in südwestlicher Richtung durchfließt. Er wurde dem Fluss wegen seiner Färbung durch den ausgewaschenen Sandstein gegeben. | The name
