Die Flagge von Illinois war Sieger in einem Wettbewerb und wurde am 06.07.1915 eingeführt. Sie zeigt ein weißes Grundtuch und darauf Teile des Staatssiegels: einen Schild mit den Farben der USA, einen Felsen mit den Jahreszahlen 1818 und 1868, einen Weißkopfseeadler mit einem Spruchband im Schnabel, darauf das Motto des Landes: "State Sovereignty, National Union", im Hintergrund ein Gewässer und die aufgehende Sonne. | The flag of Illinois
was the winner in a competition and was introduced on 6th of July in 1915. It shows a white bunting and on it parts of the State Seal: a scutcheon with the colors of the United States, a rock with the years of 1818 and 1868, a bald eagle with a banner in its beak, on it the motto of the country: "State Sovereignty, National Union", in the background waters and the rising sun. |
