Bedeutung/Ursprung der Flagge: Meaning/Origin of the Flag:
Der Chin-Staat, der Teil der Union von Burma ist, hat seine eigene Flagge, drei Streifen in Blau, Rot und Grün und in der Mitte eine weiße Scheibe mit zwei Nashornvögeln auf einem blühenden Strauch. Jedoch streben viele Chin – so wie viele andere Völker die in Burma unter der Dominanz der Burmesen leben müssen – nach Unabhängigkeit und es gibt diverse widerständische Milizen und Guerillas, die eigene Flaggen haben. Die Chin National Front (CNF) proklamierte 2023 den Staat Chinland. Die zugehörige Flagge ist die der CNF, sie zeigt drei horizontale Streifen in Rot, Weiß und Blau und in der Mitte eine weiße Scheibe mit zwei Nashornvögeln auf einem Ast. Der weiß-blaue Flagge mit der roten Scheibe in der Mitte wird nachgesagt, dass sie das Symbol eines unabhängigen Chin-Staates sei, der Chin-Staat Mizoram, der sich bis über die Territorien der Chin in Indien (indischer Bundesstaat Mizoram) ausdehnt. That Chin State, which is part of the Union of Burma, has its own flag, three stripes of blue, red and green and in the center a white disc with two hornbills on a flowering bush. However, many Chin – like many other peoples who have to live under Burmese dominance in Burma – strive for independence and there are various resistant militias and guerrillas who have their own flags.

The Chin National Front (CNF) proclaimed the state of Chinland in 2023. The associated flag is that of the CNF, it shows three horizontal stripes in red, white and blue and in the middle a white disc with two hornbills on a branch.

The white and blue flag with the red disk in the middle is said to be the symbol of an independent Chin state, the Chin State of Mizoram, which extends beyond the Chin territories in India (Indian state of Mizoram).

Geschichte:
Die Chin (auch Tschin, Mizo, Kuki) siedeln im Grenzgebiet zwischen Indien, Bangladesh und Burma. In Indien leben sie im Bundesstaat Mizoram, in Burma im Chinstaat, in Bangladesh in den Gebieten des Chittagong-Berglandes. In allen genannten Gebieten sind die Chin kulturell und auch in ihrer Existenz stark in Bedrängnis. Gegen diese Umstände richtet sich ein seit etwa der Mitte der 90-er Jahre entstandener Nationalismus, der in separatistischen Bestrebungen gipfelt.

History:
The Chin (also Tchin, Mizo, Kuki) settle in the border area between India, Bangladesh and Burma. In India they live in the Federal State of Mizoram, in Burma in the Chin State, in Bangladesh in the areas of the Chittagong Hill Tracts. In all mentioned areas the Chin are cultural and even in their existence in tough distress. Against this conditions arised since the middle of the nineties a strong nationalism, which culminates in separatistic ambitions.

Ursprung des Landesnamens: Origin of the Country's Name:
Diejenigen Territorien in den die Chin leben, sich organisieren, selbst verwalten oder unter indischer bzw. burmesischer Abhängigkeit leben müssen tragen keinen einheitlichen Namen. Die Repräsentanten des Volkes sind unterschiedliche politische Gruppierungen mit teilweise bewaffneten Milizen, die sich und dem Land unterschiedliche Namen geben. Immerhin, das Volk nennt sich Chin, werden aber auch Mizo oder Kuki genannt. Der Teilstaats der Union von Burma nennt sich "Chin-Staat". Der indische Bundesstaat, in dem die Chin (hier Mizo genannt) 75 % der Bevölkerung ausmachen, nennt sich "Mizoram". So nennt sich offenbar auch das politische Projekt für einen Nationalstaat aller Chin. Die Chin in Burma, die nach wie vor gegen die burmesische Zentralregierung kämpfen, proklamierten 2023 einen Staat, der sich "Chinland" nennt. The people's representatives are different political groups, some with armed militias, who give themselves and the country different names.

After all, the people call themselves Chin, but they are also called Mizo or Kuki. The constituent state of the Union of Burma is called "Chin State". The Indian state in which the Chin (here called Mizo) make up 75% of the population is called "Mizoram". This is apparently also the name of the political project for an all-Chinese nation state.

The Chin people of Burma, who continue to fight against the Burmese central government, proclaimed a state called "Chinland" in 2023.
