| The Flagge der Färöer-Inseln wurde im Jahre 1931 erstmals amtlich bestätigt. Sie leitet sich aus der Flagge Norwegens ab und zeigt das typische skandinavische Kreuz, jedoch sind die Farben vertauscht. Seit 1959 wird das Blau etwas heller dargestellt, wahrscheinlich um es der Farbe des Wappenschildes anzupassen. | Die flag of the Faroe Islands
was officially confirmed in the year 1931 for the first time. It derives from the flag of Norway and showes the typical scandinavian cross, however the colors are swaped. Since 1959 is the blue pictured any paler, probably to adapt it the color of the blazon. |
