Ursprung des Landesnamens – Origin of the Country's Name:
Der Name der Stadt Gotha geht auf eine im Jahre 775 in einer Urkunde erwähnte "Villa Gothaha" zurück. Gothaha heißt übersetzt "gutes Wasser". The name of the town Gotha goes back to a mention in a document in 775 as "Villa Gothaha". Gothaha means "good water".
