Der Name "Basilicata" wurde diesem Landstrich erst 1945 gegeben. Eigentlich heißt das Land "Lukanien", nach dem antiken Volk der Lukanier, die hier einst siedelten.	The name "Basilicata" was given this land in 1945. Actually the land is called "Lucania", after the ancient people of the Lucanians, who settled here once.
