| Im 17. Jahrhundert war Perak ein vom Sultanat Aceh abhängiger Staat und verwendete wahrscheinlich dessen einfarbige rote Flagge. Mit dem wachsenden Einfluss Großbritanniens und dem schwindenden Einfluss des Sultanats Aceh nahm Perak im 19. Jahrhundert eine neue Flagge an. Sie zeigt bis heute drei waagerechte Streifen in Weiß, Gelb und Schwarz. Diese Nationalflagge verbindet ganz bewusst die Farben der Flaggen der höchsten Würdenträger des Landes: Weiß = Farbe des Sultans, Gelb = Farbe des Temenggong, Schwarz = Farbe des Bendahara. Seit dem Ende des Zweiten Weltkriegs zeigen die Flaggen der drei obersten Würdenträger nicht mehr die komplette Nationalflagge in der Oberecke, sondern nur noch die zu den Farben der Nationalflagge fehlenden beiden Farben in zwei waagerechten Streifen. | In the 17th century Perak was a

flag. With the waxing influence of Great Britain and the fading influence of the Sultanate
of Aceh Perak adoped in the 19th century a new flag. It shows until today three horizontal
stripes in white, yellow and black. That national flag combines quite conscious the
colours of the flags of the highest dignitaries of the country: white = colour of the
Sultan, yellow = colour of the Temenggong, black = colour of the Bendahara. Since the end of the Second World War the flags of the highest dignitaries don't show anymore the complete national flag in the upper staff quadrant, but only the to the colours of the national flag both lacking colours in two horizontal stripes. |
